Martin has been working with his wife Kerri on the soundtrack score to the upcoming horror film G.H.O.S.T. from US based Mutantville Productions... The day John Lennon was shot was also the day that ATTRITION played their first ever show...
a fledgling post punk line up of vocals, guitar, bass and drums played a short set at the Belgrade venue in Coventry, England... 30 years on the venue is no longer there.... ATTRITION are stronger than ever...

December 8th this year is the 30th anniversary of the first ever ATTRITION show.. We have many plans for this anniversary year... We are currently working on the all new album, with special guests and many surprises....
to be released in the spring it will be preceded by a downloadable single...
and we are looking for remixers for that....

We are compiling a 2 album vinyl collection of early ATTRITION rarities - many previously unreleased - for German label Vinyl on Demand - due out in 2011...

An unreleased mix of our song "Dante's Kitchen" by US producer Shok is on the upcoming Pray Silence vinyl compilation - out in December this year

A 2006 remix of our song "Into the waves" is out on "Crude, a tribute to the Gulf" - a benefit compilation CD for the people most affected by the recent oil disaster in the New orleans area

Martin has contributed vocals to a track on the new Autoclav1.1 album out very soon on Tympanik Audio and has recently remixed tracks for the new album by Johnnie Clappers' project Fernthal - Universal Lover,
and for South African band Ankst...

out in June on the Machinekunt label it includes tracks by Hanin Elias, Leæther Strip, amGod, Pzychobitch and more... 10% of proceeds will go to MindFreedom International, an organization dedicated to mental health rights and stopping psychiatric abuse

Our song "I am (Eternity) is included on the new split CD by My Silent wake and the Drowning ... with guest vocals from Martin & Sin... you can hear it here ...

We are recording works towards the long awaited new ATTRITION album at this very moment.... developing a more expansive sound with guests including Ian Arkley from My Silent Wake on guitar
We will be releasing extracts over the next few months.... Work is also progressing on an official ATTRITION documentary DVD with accompanying biography....

Martin has been mixing and mastering tracks from Tylean's upcoming solo album and also remixing a song from the new album by Johnnie Clapper's band Fernthal ....

she is 16 years old and lives in New York... she told me her parents had named her after my song of the same name...
she told me it is also her favourite song...
I feel both humbled and proud that something of my work can mea n that much to others....

We just got home from our little tour of Russia... an exciting emotional dangerous and beautiful slice of this life to hold.... thank you to everyone that helped make it happen...ake it happen... :)

"Something that's old, and something that's new...."



As we enter our 30thyear....(of which more anon)... there have been some major changes around here.... and i would say for the better....
Inevitably there has been some pain as we have metamorphosised into something new.... and such is change....
and such is life...and every day we wake again...
as somebody once said...
Sin has left us....and i wish her the very best as she continues her life and musical journey...
and i am pleased to welcome Tylean, who will be working with me in ATTRITION for the forseeable future... An accomplished singer, pianist and cellist in her own right, she has released several solo albums... Tylean will debut with us at our show in Manchester in April... check out the other tour dates, including our second tour of Russia in march over here.

It has taken 3 years and much work and 24 CD releases....!
but the final two reissues from the ATTRITION back catalogue are out now on our own Two Gods label!....Dante's Kitchen...with 4 bonus tracks...and Ephemera are out now...

Serial killers...

The documentary soundtrack will feature extracts from the album...

Dark Rose films are also talking with us about making a short film inspired by and featuring the music of "All mine enemys whispers"... With minimum dialog it will explore atmospheres very much in a german expressionist style... more on that soon...

Two Gods... The latest in the reissue series through the band's own Two Gods label are  At the fiftieth gate (1988...and out now) and Smiling, at the Hypogonder club (1985...coming very very soon).
Both albums are totally remastered by Martin and are in re-designed artwork.

Ephemera
Mark Lomax created some excellent cover artwork for ATTRITION for most of the 90's... from a Tricky Business up to Etude..  He is still working as a fine artist and has a new exhibition of his work coming up soon... entitled Ephemera, after the CD he designed the cover for in 1994, the album will also be played during the exhibition....a multimedia experience... On from July 4th - September 7th at the Inchmore gallery , Inverness, Scotland.
Mark plans to do a similar show in the future using "all mine enemys whispers"

It was handed down through the family and came into Martin's possession a few years ago. The curse of Mary Ann Cotton...!
Well maybe it's just a coincidence....but this album has had a whole string of upsets....
First Emilie Autumn breaking her violin strings in the middle of recording sessions..
Then aborted photo shoots when cameras mysteriously powered down...
and poison bottles got broken.
Then wrangles with our parent label over the cover design...and subsequent printer errors....
The album was originally scheduled for release this halloween....
It didn't happen...
I really had to reconsider this release...

The good news is that "All mine enemys whispers -  The story of Mary Ann Cotton "
will now be coming out through our good friends at Projekt Records.
We are returning home to them after an 8 year break...
Expect a release date early next year...

We are celebrating our 25 year anniversary with the release of a 16 track 74 minute CD of re-collected, re-worked and re-mastered works.
The first 2000 copies are issued in a limited, numbered, collectors edition gatefold digipack.
Tearing arms from Deities is the debut release for our new label Two Gods on April 10th.
The official launch show for will be at this years Convergence festival...New Orleans.
April 14th... where we will be joined on stage by special guest Ned Kirby from Stromkern...

Songs for Dresden.
We have our song "Two Gods" included on the 2CD collection celebrating the 800 year anniversary of the City of Dresden..
Our hometown, Coventry is a twin city to Dresden after both cities suffered massive bombing during the second world war..

Pigface.
Martin is completing electronics and vocals on a track as special guest on the upcoming Pigface album on Underground inc... The album will also be featuring Martin Atkins, Chris Connelly, Curse Mackay, En Esch, Charles Levi, Die Warzau and possibly Emile Autumn...

Narnia.
Skander Keynes (Edmund in the film Narnia..) has recorded the featured voice on a bizarre and wonderful remix of our song "Dante's Kitchen" by Zena ...a music technology student of mine....

Martin is recording the narrators voiceover dialogue for an upcoming horror film from the house of North Carolina based Mutantville productions. Filming is coming to a close and the movie should be available later this year... more info from http://www.mutantville.com/

Announcing a series of Collectors edition re-issues of many Attrition albums for this 25th anniversary year. Every album will include something special...something extra...
The first is Projekt records re-issue of a Tricky Business.
From 1991 this album includes the darkwave classic "a girl called harmony".
The album is available in the original artwork and now includes a bonus track in the long lost 12" club remix version of "Something in my Eye".

as part of our upcoming 25 year celebration we are compiling our first ever DVD release.
With rare promo videos, live tour footage and documentary interviews from our entire career... Due for release sometime in 2006... Does anyone have any video footage taken at one of our shows somewhere, anywhere over the last two decades? if you can get us anything at all we can consider it for the DVD and of course you'll get credited and a free copy...

Our 25th anniversary year is fast approaching...we are planning a series of very special releases and live events worldwide...
Firstly, we have been asked to compile an album of cover versions of attrition songs.. a tribute album if you like... this is an open request for contributions. if you would like to submit a cover do let us know....email martin for more details, deadlines, or anything else...

We're bringing High Blue Star over to the UK for their first ever european show, when they open for us at Madame JoJos in London on May 26th... a warm up for our appearance at this years Gotham festival on May 28th...check the tour dates page for more info...
